Nanotechnology
What
does it mean ? Nano (from Greek) means dwarf or small. Nanotechnology
is one of the science's branch which the object has size from 1 –
100 nanometer (nm); 1 nm equals to 0.000000001
m. Quantum mechanics has a
big role in this technology. The first time the concept of
nanotechnology was introduced by Richard Feynman in a scientific
speech held by the American Physical Society at Caltech (California
Institute of Technology), December 29, 1959. with the title "There's
Plenty of Room at the Bottom". Richard Feynman was a physicist
and in 1965 won the Nobel Prize in physics.
Grid Computing
According to Giga
Research, grid computing is the computer cluster systems, which are
connected to one another, which allows the use of existing resources
simultaneously. Meanwhile, according to Sun Microsystems grid
computing shortened to 3 C, namely Computing, Collaboration, and
Communication. From this understanding, we can assess that grid
computing is an amazing thing. for many different applications and
hardware that can be easily configured without disturbing a running
system. Combining multiple geographically separate computers, but
still connected communication system with the Internet.
Quantum Computing
What is a quantum computing ???? Simple understanding of the quantum computer is a new
type of processor chips are created based on recent developments of
physics (and mathematics) quantum. In short, today's conventional
chips need to be replaced with something better.
Further understanding of
the quantum computer is a calculating device which uses a quantum
mechanical phenomena, such as superposition and linkage, to perform
data operations. In classical computing, is calculated by the amount
of data bits; in quantum computers, this is done with the qubit. If
say, a quantum computer only took 20 minutes to work on a process
that takes 1025 years on the computer at this time, we would be
amazed. This makes scientists so keen to develop the possibility of
formation of a quantum computer. Although until now there has been
created a quantum computer as imagined by scientists, progress
continues in that direction
