Volunteer: Turgev-Albukhary Language and Culture

Become volunteer is not something new for me. I've been joining some programs as volunteer. Basically, I like to do something as my heart feel would like to do. There are not much people who work like a donkey without getting paid. I just want to be myself and do what I suppose to do.

Currently, Albukhary Foundation had collaboration with TURGEV Foundation conducted English and Language Camp for about 204 students from Turkey at Albukhary International University, Alor Setar, Malaysia.

Albukhary Foundation is non-profit organisation based in Malaysia which spreads humanity and values to the people of the world. It was founded by Malaysian businessman Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Albukhary, to give form and structure to the charitable activities that has undertaken from the day he set up his first company in 1974. Furthermore, TURGEV Foundation has made a way to grow teenagers who are  entrepreneur, have been sustaining wealth around globe with 8166 students and with the 1584 graduates gave in 20 years.

Both project stakeholders have aim to support for both developing foreign language and increasing to cultural global interactions by this education program which were arranged by TÜRGEV and Albukhary foundation in Malaysia. In another words, they were doing intensive English class for a month in Albukhary International University (AiU).

In fact, I'm the scholar of Albukhary Foundation since 2011. Therefore, there's no question for me to join any volunteering programs as the way to pay back to the society as my Foundation does.

This program also gave me another chance to interact directly with people from Turkey. Where there's no boundary such as media or 'heard from people' how the Turkish looks like.

I was happy that most of them were very cool and generous people. They taught me Turkish language in some phrases and idioms. Moreover, they were nationalist and very proud of their country. That's what make Turkey became strong and unite.

Indeed, some problems were happening as part of the cultural activities. I wasn't shocked when they complain about the food was sweet, spicy or less amount. I've been experiencing before with my other friends from Kosovo or Albania. Day-by-day they would adapt with it and it's part of learning the Malaysian culture.

Luckily, in this program the food wasnt completely Malaysian delight. Most of the time the foods were western food. Yet, some of them had experience of testing Nasi Lemak, rambutan and durian; the King of the fruits.

That's very unforgettable moment to be with you!! Hope to see you guys in Turkey. Now, I need to settle with my lecturer in campus because skipping the classes for the past two weeks. 😂

Sorry if we did something wrong, we are just human who always do mistakes and keep learning.

Memnun Oldum ve görusürüz!
(Nice to meet you and see you again)

Jimpitan System in Indonesia: Woman, Poverty and Welfare

Each country has a variety of internal and external issues that could destabilize the country. The main problems focus on three sectors: economic, political and law. However, a problem that requires serious attention is an economic sector with the problem of poverty as it can lower the index of the country's economy.

One of the factors that make the Indonesian population living below the poverty line is a lower level of education than lace impact on the productive sector which resulted in an increase in the number of unemployed.

Indonesia is a densely populated country with a population of 237,641,326 million and increase to 250 million in 2015, therefore, it can be ensured that the country's income will be unbalance due to the increase of population.

Then, it is compounded by the high burden of families in financing the economy as well as several other non-technical factors, one of them is natural disaster such as landslides, earthquakes and floods which is claimed to snatch the property of poor people in Indonesia.

Although Indonesia is said to be a middle-income country (Middle Income Trap) where the conditions for economic development may be slowed or stopped at certain points, it does not mean the problem of poverty is fully the responsibility of the central government. But, it needs cooperation with private institutions or other non-structural supporting parties, where the target of poverty rate fell to 10% in 2014.

Some programs are conducted by the government to focus on the direction of economic development of Indonesia is to maintain price stability of basic commodities, to push economic growth, which stands for the poor people, to enhance well as expand the scope of community-driven development, to improve the access of the poor to basic services and to build social protection systems for society. In order to strengthen the program, government does technical guidance or mentoring and training in financial management of micro-finance institutions (Mis).

Cooperative business is considered as a productive sector that could boost economic growth in the country as indicated by the increase in GDP (Gross Domestic Product). Can't be denied that women also contribute to the economic life, because women have a central role in helping to realize the welfare of the family.

Approximately 8506 women's cooperatives that have been approved by a legal entity with a mission to eradicate poverty together, but because Indonesia is facing the capitalist economic system more priority to the acquisition of income based on the ownership of capital, as a result of capital owners are getting richer and the poor poorer. While the formation of the cooperative was formed on the basis of concern that are not contrary to free competition, but cooperation based on solidarity, justice, honesty. It is not a conflict of interest are raised, but bring mutual interest to the ideal society prosperous, fair and equitable.

Thus, the idea of the cooperative is expected to bring a renewal of the world economy in order to avoid social lameness. Results of women's cooperative assessment in 2011 showed a positive effect. But after a grant from the government and also the supervision of the government completed, the cooperative process is stopped too. Because the cooperative is formed not on the basis of the initial objectives, but is formed because of the assistance.

Indonesia is a rich country as well as its culture and positive essence in it that can be applied in solving the economic problem. As a follow-up to the establishment of the women's cooperative program to improve work efficiency and meeting the needs of society, therefore, it needs "Jimpitan System" as a solution to the sustainability of women's cooperatives as well as to lift the local wisdom of East Java.

Jimpitan is derived from the Javanese language. Jimpitan or pinches that take in small amounts, "jimpitan" is collected then will be transferred to the funding of social activities for the residents and can contribute to the construction of mosques, schools, and donations village infrastructure.

The expectation from this system, women's cooperative is able to provide the foundation of the relationship between members, although the government no longer participated in providing assistance either donations or assistance, but cooperative women can continue to contribute to improving the economy around.

As the result, it will be returned to the community also indicated that with the increase of income per capita, and if the result of this continue to be developed, the initial target to enter the upper middle income countries can be realized and become an independent state by optimizing local knowledge.

The Differences Between Inner Beauty And Physical Beauty

People are always looking for the beauty. It is either the beauty from inside or outside. And beauty is one of my favorite topic to talk about. What is beauty? Beauty is something universal which people always feel satisfied and proud about sometimes. We all know that beauty is something which is abstract, hence, it is relative. Perhaps, a girl who has physical beauty from the other will look more attractive from man than the others, yet the other man will not be attracted by physical beauty since he prefers the inner beauty or vice versa. Therefore, inner and physical beauty can be seen in term of long lasting, health, and cost.

The most important thing for the beauty is how long it can stay. Physical beauty, especially, has short-term duration rather than inner beauty. Obviously, human cannot defeat the time, therefore human will get old and their beauty will be faded away by the time. On the contrary, inner beauty will remain longer or last forever. Though, that person is old enough but her/his heart will speak up. Some have outer beauty, some have inner beauty, and some are lucky enough to have both. Life is too precious not to live it to the fullest.

Comparing both types of the beauty, I notice another difference. There is a health factor that need to be considered. I am emphasizing on the physical beauty. Many people are racing to show their physical beauty to other to draw an attention. They use instant method which could possibly harm their own bodies such as cancer and infection which possibly can be deadly. For instance, plastic surgery for nose where was done by Michael Jackson because he was lack of self-esteem. On the other hand, inner beauty will be healthier because it has nothing to do with any external used. In addition, inner beauty will create something special which is charisma whereby it will make someone looks more attractive for some reasons. It is advisable that person should consider about their health before upgrading their beauty.

Yet another difference between inner and outer beauty is cost. It is obvious that outer beauty will cost more than inner beauty. People may be going to the special treatment for their special part of the bodies which need to be fixed. Therefore, only certain people can afford it. Besides that, inner beauty is cost-less or it may possibly free yet it is very expensive. It is only can be built personally by practice it every day since it is actually involving psychology and emotion.

Lastly, those are the main three difference between inner beauty and physical beauty. As we have discussed, physical beauty is about how we look yet inner beauty is about how we feel. Thus, inner beauty is more durable though he/she is getting old. Therefore, it is advisable to young generations to balance inner and their physical beauty in the future.

Should all cities provide free wireless internet?

Currently, internet technology has emerged rapidly. Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) is one of the technologies that have been implemented in many sectors all around the world. The background of implementing WiFi is because wired technology has limited functions to people who want to access the internet. Even though most people think that free WiFi is not really advantageous, I strongly believe that with free WiFi, people can easily access the internet to browse about information and it will increase the productivity of the citizens. However, there will be a chance for hackers to sniff the personal information.

Wireless internet is a source of information. In fact, the internet can spread the information faster than any other media such as TV, radio, newspaper, etc. Nowadays, it is an effective source of spreading news all over the world. In this globalization era, citizens shouldn’t left behind about what is happening on the other side of the world. According to recent study by University of Oxford in 2013, it shows that 69.93% of people in India have more information after implementing free WiFi in City Park. Thus, the government should implement free WiFi to all cities in order to make its citizens more knowledgeable.

Another reason why providing free wireless internet to all cities has more advantages than disadvantages is because it will increase the productivity of the citizens. People could work virtually anywhere when there is free WiFi provided. According to Minister of transportation in 2015, he said that most people spend half of their life on the road due to traffic jam. Therefore, free wireless could help the people to stay anywhere to submit their work. In addition, housewife who has ability to make online business can also use this facility. As mentioned before, free wireless can increase the productivity of the citizens.

Some people think that free wireless is not safe, due to hacker’s activity to sniff our personal information. These people have the opinion that many cases happened last year involve hacker’s activity, for example, online banking: you check the balance in your bank account, then your phone gets hacked; not only is that an invasion of privacy, but all of your money is now gone. However, I strongly disagree with all these opinions. I think free wireless internet is safe. The new encryption 256 bit technology has been implemented to protect the user access. The network security analyst has confirmed that hackers will need thousand to million years to decry-pt the information from user, therefore, it safe to all users.

In conclusion, free wireless internet has more advantages than disadvantages because internet is source of information and can increase the productivity of citizens. Therefore, we should not have all negative views towards implementing free wireless to all cities. As its very beneficial and significant invention which can change the way of people think. Once again, I totally agree that government should provide free wireless internet to all cities.

The Fixer

That day, when the first time you came in this beautiful place,
maybe you didn't realize my existence.
I am the one who observe you anywhere you appear.
I am the one who say your name in my prayer.
How tremendous you are.

When the bunch of mindless people dragged me down,
I had no one to share with.
They said,
"I am a coward",
"I am heartless",
"I am a sucker",
"I am such a loser".

In my silence,
I ignore,
I apologize,
n I pray for your mind to be opened.

I am sure if prayer is a powerful tool,
You come and catch the rope,
When the kite lose control.

Because you trust that the kite still in a good way,
can be fixed,
can be flown,
against the strong winds.

Thus, the kite fully trust on the rope,
that the rope wont let it go,
Gallantly, the kite is proud that has strong rope,
which need to be broadcasted to the world,

Because you are my fixer!

What kind of person who can enter college?

Well, this session I want to discuss about the eligibility of person to enter college. Am I worthy enough to join in this University Life? Until now, this is very bothering me so much before I am going to sleep. When I see the education level diagram (the triangle shape), the education levels are getting narrow in specific areas on top level. It means from time to time, in fact, only certain student who has ‘ability’ can join in this level.

Well, it is like the natural selection. Hence, most of my teachers, my mom as well as my family members always remind me to study smart to persuade me to join in that level. Because they say, “if you are smart, you can easily join in higher education level!”.

Once I entered the University, all that hypothesizes are false! People who are smart, stupid, and lazy can join the University. Then what is the purpose of our study in University? Nothing, University is just the platform to pursue your dream. We can't guarantee to be successful even we join University. Your success in your hand.

Therefore, based on my personal view, these are might be the reasons why you are eligible to continue your studies in the higher level:

1.    Your Family is Rich

It can’t be denied that ‘money can buy everything”. You don’t need to be smart and intelligent enough to enter the college/university. Additionally, commercialization of education is more intensively discussed recently. Previously, they acknowledge that they are lazy and their families are rich.

I have asked for them," What will you do after finishing your bachelor degree?".

Easily, their answer was, “I will continue my master degree, if possible I want to do PhD too, then find a job or else I will just continue my family business". They won't think about the financial burden and job employment. Unfair? I think it is fair enough since we didn't choose in which family we were born. Bill Gates has said, "If you are born poor, it is not your mistake. But if you die poor, it is your mistake".

2.    Passionate

When you know where to go, you are willing to do something. Maybe, I am in this reason. I am not rich and not excessively keen but I am passionate. I have watched one interview in TV program, Ahmad Fuadi was asked, "What are the requirements to join the scholarship?".

Amazingly, his answer was, "You don't need to be smart. You need to be passionate of what you are doing. It is seen when you answer the question in the interview. Either you try to cheat your reason or make craps stories, the interviewers know the shapes of your heart."

It is proven when people are passionate doing something, that people may do several methodologies to complete the tasks. Even though they are not smart enough, but at least, they are not lazy. Maybe I could say "Laziness is the root of all diseases". Though, this dangerous disease sometimes attack me. Many of us have gone through this process. Until now, we are safe and some of us have graduated in the First Class, even people sometimes 'look down on us'.

3.    Intelligent

There is no doubt if people have intelligence in their brain might go to University easily. Many scholarships have offered them. Unexpectedly, some of them are not going to college/University. They prefer working to help their family, lack of scholarship information, and they don’t have passion.  Why do I say this? Because these are what I receive from my friends who I think they are smart. Indeed, I would do the same if I didn't get scholarship that time.

 So, which one?

I was thinking to put lucky as the last point, but I cannot measure the lucky since it is extraordinary thing that we ever had. The lecturers need high salary, therefore, the University should increase the academic cost. By the end of it, the student itself need high salary after graduate in order to claim the fees has been paid in University. This become a strong life cycle of life, everything about money.

The best things are when you are rich, you are smart/intelligent, and you are passionate. But, more or less, you can contribute to the society and be useful for people in need. Other than that, you are nothing as pieces of dust which fly on the air. Last but not least, this post is subjective and everyone has different views.

Im (just) a Human

I'm (just) a human.

With heart.

With kindness.

With dignity.

With value.

With love.

With respect.

With honesty.

With empathy, to feel, to think, and to get influence by those outside my control.

Therefore, I'm just a human.

With emotion.

With limitation.

With flaws.

With anger.

With tears.

With sins.

And thus, endow me with patience.

Your power,

Your love.

Which are delivered from those who inflict pain, anger and disappointments.

Our LORD,

Keep me away from evil.

Since, I'm just a human.
